If we can give a little more
than we take, the world could
be a better place.
If we can try to fix things,
more than we destroy them,
the world could be a better
place.
If we stand up for those grieving
on their knees, the world could
be a better place.
If we can lend our voices to those
who can not speak, the world
could be a better place.
If we can muster the courage to
defend the defenseless, the world
could be a better place.
If we can listen more to others
than dismiss them, the world
could be a better place.
If we can shine a little light to
brighten the way for people
wandering in darkness, the
world could be a better
place.
If we can be generous enough
to show the way to others after
us, the world could be a better
place.
If we can find it in our hearts
to show grace to strangers in
dire need, the world could
be a better place.
If we lend to the poor and
needy, the world could be
a better place.
If we are more considerate
of others than insensitive
and intolerant, the world
could be a better place.
If we do more to foster
peace and unite people
than sow seeds of
discord and spur
conflict, the world
could be a better
place.
If we exude patience
and refrain from
eagerness, the
world could be a
better place.
If we love more than
we hate, the world
could be a better
place.
If we choose good over
gold and humanity over
vanity, the world could
be a better place.
If we refrain from doing to
others what we don’t want
others to do to us, the world
could be a better place.
If we are more honest than
dishonest to others and
ourselves, the world
could be a better place.
If we are more selfless than
greedy, the world could be
a better place.
If we do not take what
is not ours and labor for
what we desire, the world
could be a better place.
If we turn from evil to good,
the world could be a better
place.
If we are just and truthful
in our deeds, the world
could be a better place.
And if we fear God,
not just in words, but
in our ways, the world
could a better place.
