Slap On The Ribs! -As CDC Cracks From Within Amidst Massive Criticisms; Drops Code Of Conduct Violation Like Hot Cake

While it is true that when the rain falls, despite the durability, viability and the bestowed guaranteed of worthiness, it (rain) does not fall on one person’s house; therefore never find pleasure in twisting an alligator’s tale that is groaning in severe agony before a jittery lizard and expect it (lizard) to laugh over it.

Again, while Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel F. McGill, on his spree of disregard for the canons of the country in which he serves in a very high profile space, out of unpatriotic and mental indiscipline, could lash out without second thought of purpose, that there is nothing wrong with violating the Code Of Conduct (COC) which is enshrined in the Constitution, because according to him, it was ignored by the previous administration is outrageous coming from person of his official caliber, lamented observers.

According to Part 5.1 of the National Code of Conduct for all public officials and employees appointed by the President of Liberia shall not engage in political activities, canvass or contest for elected offices; use government facilities, equipment or resources in support of partisan or political activities and serve on a campaign team of any political party, or the campaign of any independent candidate.

However, barely less than 24 hours after the Chairman of the mighty Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) Mulbah Morlu unveiled his 500 strong campaign managers who would work along the national campaign committee ahead of the December senatorial elections; and strongly opposed to McGill’s position of total defiance because others disregarded the COC in the past, the CDC soon realized a crack from within as many of those appointed as part of the 500 strong campaign managers with active portfolios in government have taken a step back in recognition of the Code, indeed a slap on the ribs of the CDC.

First to register his back-off was Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA), Bill Twehway, who was appointed as the CDC’s National Campaign Coordinating, later turned down his preferment on grounds of his obedience to the COC.

Twehway also added that his appointment is a violation of the Code of Conduct and as a law-abiding citizen he cannot perform a task that is in violation of national law. The head of the 500 strong campaign managing team, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Professor Wilson Tarpeh, realizing the tons of criticisms quickly step aside from the list and noted whatsoever regarding the process, he will conduct same personally, meaning he will vote the party’s candidate without serving on the campaign team.

Again, pundits pointed to disrespecting the law or toying with it to serve personal interest is a commonplace for those of the ruling establishment with impunity, and wondering what is so strange here this time? The rules of law have been trampled upon by partisans from top to bottom as the evidences are numerously glaring to say the least.

Meanwhile, critics have stated that Liberia is in trouble; very serious political trouble emanating from complete self-seeking operatives and dangerously driven by materialism coupled with poorly prepared and questionable leadership that outwardly champions by now passive soccer legend George M. Weah as President and his team; a result of a vivid pain- stricken by-product of what ill-nourished majority votes can create as a cancer on the skin of democracy.

The pundits also how wondered over a leader that finds profound pleasure in taking cover behind the fragile walls of proclaiming himself the best thing that has ever happened to Liberia in terms of growth, development and a sound and vibrantly sustained economy in a relatively short period as compared to the achievements of all leaders of the nation from 1847; while this is a deeply worrying to a vague fallacy to say the least;  they (pundits)  see as not being expedient for this leadership to be well-rooted in throwing loose, reckless and grimly unfocused jabs at individuals he ought to think more than twice, before attempting although it is equally distasteful to apportion disrespect and insults at the leadership which should be clearly understood in practice that  while children are not to provoke the parents should not provoke the  children a moral contract between the governed and the governor.

don’t ; and moreover in a place of worship wherein he prides himself as a man of God and a devoted believer of the Most High. What a shame and moral scandal in the land.

When President Weah sightlessly voiced out that you (perceived successors) don’t want to accept our excuses, but when your time comes, then we should comfortably embrace yours, is not only a practical position statement of upright weakness and bankruptcy of vision, but a total lack of the flare and substance to develop policies imbued with the attractive qualities to transforming the saddled nation and worn-out citizens in great dilemma.

According to them, the leadership has inflicted an absolute nightmare of disappointment and sorrow on the people in just three years; while confusedly witnessing the fast erosion plaguing the administration, thereby rapidly crashing the high hope and image of the people and country in a vicious quicksand.
