A certificate proves that you went to school; it does not prove that life has taught you anything.
School gives us intelligence; life gives us wisdom.
School teaches us how to read books; life teaches us how to read people.
School teaches us theories; life teaches us realities.
School prepares us for examinations; life gives us tests we never studied for.
Books fill the mind with knowledge, but experience fills the soul with understanding and how to apply it.
A degree may open a door, but wisdom teaches us how to walk through it. Intelligence tells us what we know; wisdom teaches us what to do with what we know.
Life teaches lessons no classroom can fully explain—how to handle disappointment without becoming bitter, success without becoming arrogant, failure without surrendering, defeat without being rattled and demeaned, how to handle trials and temptations without giving up, and betrayal without losing our humanity and sense of compassion.
In school failure is reprehensible, in life failure is a valuable lesson.
So, seek education, but embrace experience. Seek knowledge, but pursue wisdom.
For school may teach you how to make a living, but life teaches you how to live.
And may I say more?
