Oh, the birthday of our
dear flag has dawned
upon us yet again and
together we shall honor
this marker and be deeply
glad in its sacred
quintessence.
In our flag, the world sees
the unbridled valor and the
endearing grit of our
nation and its resilient
existence.
Oh yes, power and glory
we declare to the homeland
In our flag lies the fierce
symbolism of our undying
spirit, brazen hope, and
enduring faith our nation
boldly and unpretentiously
carries in its steel being.
Oh, our flag, weaved so
gorgeously and
magnificently reflects the
the honor and dignity of
our nation, but also
unravels the mystical
craft of the Immaculate
women who made our
flag, a flag whose imposing
beauty compares to
none.
So, with a hear filled with
gratitude and humility, we
honor the revered memories
of herions Suzannah Lewis,
Matilda Newport and their
heroic comrades who joined
in hands with them to brilliantly
design and spectacularly
hand-stitched the flag of
Africa’s Oldest Republic.
Oh, fellow countrymen, Our
flag is a mark of our national
pride, freedom, history, and
self-determination. May we
be proud of it and honor it
with the greatest emphasis
at our command.
For it is true, our flag reflects
the towering wisdom of our
founding fathers who valorously
declared that the hoisting of our
flag daringly echoes the existence
and eternity of a glorious nation
in Liberia.
No doubt, they were visionary
and noble nation’s builders …
righteous men who chose
good over gold, nation over
self, honor over fame, humanity
over power, hope over cynicism,
faith, diversity over sectionalism
hope over fear, unity over division,
and love over hate. May they
continue to rest in unfadaing
glory and power.
Oh, as our flag flies and flickers
, it daringly heralds to the
world a resounding and
defining message of a freed
nation and people who
courageously endure in unity,
coexistence, faith, and peace.
Oh, our dear and charming flag
powerfully beholds a revealing
historical tapestry and
typology which sets it apart
as the first nation on the dark
continent to declare itself
unconditional freedom from
the rusty chains of colonization
and forward journey on the
monumental path of
self-determination.
All Hail, Liberia Hail…
This glorious land of
liberty shall long be
ours… our national
anthem sayeth.
Weaved in three sparkling
colors,red, white, and blue,
our flag embeds a rich and
amazing history that we
with pride and dignity.
The red scribs embroidered
in it represent the blood of
the daring and selfless
warriors that battled for
the freedom this glorious
land we call home.
The shining white scribes represent
the purity of the land of Liberia, a
nation of warmth, grace
and generosity.
The beaming blue square represents
the dark continent of Africa, the true
home of our forefathers, endowed
with enormous wealth in natural
resources beneath and over its
prestine dark soil.
The gleaming lone white star represents
Liberia as the first Independent Republic
of Africa, a nation that graciously pioneerd
the founding of the Organisation of African
Unity (OAU), now the African Unity (AU).
To our flag, we pledge unwavering
allegiance in honor of the Republic,
for which it stands.For we are one
nation indivisible with liberty and
justice for all.
So, today, like every August 24th,
we celebrate our flag in honor of
our nation, its history, and its
striving existence as a people.
Oh, may this day reignite the
undying spirit of patriotism
and unity across the stunning
landscape of our homeland, as
we joyfully rally around our flag
as one nation and one people.
