MOH Hits The Jackpot -Procures And Brought In More Oxygens, Cylinders & Regulators

Amidst the hue and cry coupled with criticisms and harbored speculations that the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MHSW) is complacent about the Coronavirus fight, the MHSW has already procured and brought into the country a huge consignment of oxygens, cylinders and regulators for use.

In its quest to also allay the COV ID-19 fear and reduce the Coronavirus panic, the Ministry of Health has announced the procurement of oxygen to get Star Base Treatment Unit actively functioning, despite rumors that it lacks the medical items; is informing the public that the Government of Liberia via the Incident Management System (IMS) has procured the needed items.

According to a statement Tuesday, contrary to report that the Star Base Treatment Unit lacks supplies, the Ministry of Health has noted that, over 500 cylinders with all filled with oxygen, 1000 oxygen Regulator and other essentials medical supplies for speedy treatment of patients at the Star Base Hospital are available.

At the same time, the IMS says it has procured a 350 KVA generator to serve as the third alternative source of power to boost the supply of electricity 24/7.

Moreover, there has been a rush for COVID vaccine at different health facilities with the Ministry of Health in Congo Town being the most congested. At least 96,000 doses were donated to the country with 67K vaccinated till date, the serge comes after the renewed variant was announced.

In furtherance, the Ministry of Health has hit the jackpot as it has done everything swiftly to ensure that the medical supplies including other most needed operational facilities are available and that the patients are served
