MONROVIA, Liberia — Minister of Agriculture Dr. J. Alexander Nuateh has announced that the much-anticipated earth-moving equipment procured to support Liberia’s agricultural sector is expected to arrive in the country on September 10, 2026.
Minister Nuateh made the disclosure on Monday, August 24, during Liberia’s 179th National Flag Day celebration at the Executive Pavilion on Ashmun Street in Central Monrovia.
Speaking to Parrot Newspaper Online TV, Minister Nuateh said the arrival of the equipment is expected to provide critical support to agricultural activities across Liberia.
He emphasized that the machinery will contribute to strengthening the country’s agricultural sector, which he identified as one of the key pillars of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
The minister’s announcement comes amid growing attention to the government’s efforts to acquire and deploy heavy equipment to support agricultural production, infrastructure development and other national development priorities.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nuateh also reflected on the significance of Liberia’s National Flag Day celebration, calling on citizens to put aside political differences and use the occasion to reflect on the country’s history, unity and national identity.
He urged Liberians to recognize and honor the contributions, sacrifices, commitment and dedication of the seven Liberian women led by Madam Susannah Elizabeth Lewis, who played a historic role in preparing Liberia’s national flag.
The minister further called on primary schools across the country to prioritize civics education as part of efforts to teach young Liberians about the country’s history, national values and the significance of national observances such as Flag Day.
He said strengthening civics education would help instill patriotism and a deeper understanding of Liberia’s national heritage among children and future generations.
