Brandon Yaya Debah announced himself in style on his Bea Mountain FC debut, delivering a masterclass performance as the Miners defeated Discoveries FC 4-1 in the Bettomax Cup preseason competition.
The highly rated right-back, who recently joined Bea Mountain after spending eight seasons with LPRC Oilers FC, wasted no time showing his new club exactly what he can bring to the team.
Debah played a key role in Bea Mountain’s convincing victory, finishing the match with two assists in his pocket and producing an impressive defensive display from the right side of the backline.
His first major contribution came in the 26th minute when he delivered a quality cross into the box for Bea Mountain’s powerful new signing, striker Darius Garmodeh, who made no mistake with the finish.
Debah returned to the spotlight in the 52nd minute, once again demonstrating his attacking ability by setting up winger Ralph Weah for Bea Mountain’s second goal of the encounter.
While his two assists grabbed the headlines, the former LPRC Oilers captain was equally impressive defensively, using his experience, strength and positioning to frustrate Discoveries FC’s attacking players.
The right-back kept Discoveries FC’s wingers largely quiet throughout the contest, making important defensive interventions and showing the discipline expected from an experienced defender.
