MONROVIA: The Liberia Chapter of the Mano River Union Youth Parliament (MRUYP-LC) has thrown its support behind President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr.’s recent dismissal and suspension of key government and security officials linked to the ongoing investigation into Liberia’s largest cocaine seizure, describing the move as a bold demonstration of political will in the fight against narcotics trafficking.
In a statement issued Friday, the youth organization praised the President for taking what it termed “decisive and timely action” against officials whose alleged involvement in the country’s growing drug crisis has heightened public concern over the infiltration of transnational criminal networks into state institutions.
The statement, signed by the Parliament’s Fourth Speaker, Daniel Nama Nills, said the administration’s actions send a strong message that no public official should be shielded from accountability when national security and the rule of law are at stake.
According to the organization, the President’s decision reflects the growing demand by Liberians for transparency, justice, and decisive leadership in confronting the country’s escalating narcotics crisis.

“The government will no longer tolerate the devastating impact these substances have on our communities and the future of the nation,” the statement declared.
